Overview
Teenage me never would have guessed how much space kitchen aesthetics would eventually take up in my brain. For this piece, I wanted to blend strict product rendering with a lived-in environment design. I’ve always been drawn to Caraway’s visual identity, so I made their cookware the anchor of the shot—focusing heavily on dialing in the mix between organic, natural window light and targeted studio lighting.
My Goals
From the start I wanted to test my speed while maintaining quality, my primary objective for this piece was achieving photorealism through subtle imperfections giving myself only a few hours. In product visualization, it’s easy for things to look too sterile. I wanted to push the texturing on the backsplash tile and the heavy brass of the stove to ground the scene in reality. Compositionally, the goal was to direct the viewer's eye straight to the cookware, using the directional light to create a natural framing device.
